Design Competition

Competition Details: Have you ever wanted to design the costumes for a play? Wanted the opportunity to bring an original script to life with your vision to costume the characters for the director, producer and playwright? Well here is your chance!

The inspiration for the initial fashion design should be "VOICES of WOMEN ARTISTS." Designs can be clothing or accessory items.

Out of the initial sketch submissions, six artists will be selected. These six will then be interviewed and asked to bring in at least 3 samples of a finished design product along with their portfolio.

One designer will be selected as the winner, and will be given both a mentorship and studio space to develop their costumes for the winning play of Athena Project’s Plays In Progress Series, which will be presented in March 2013 at the Athena Project Festival at the Aurora Fox Theatre.

The winner will also receive a special showcase at an Athena Project Event sponsored by Colorado Fashion Week Fall of 2012.
